I have a 2001 FZ1 and parts are getting harder and harder to find, even original factory parts. I was surprised and very pleased to find these aftermarket carb intake boots available. My original boots were severely cracked, and even though the cracks hadn't penetrated completely through, I wanted to replace them.These GOOFIT brand intake boots are an excellent quality replacement and an excellent value. I can't tell any difference in materials, they're just as high quality and thick rubber just like the original ones installed from the factory. They are constructed of a heavy rubber-like material (EPDM perhaps?), and match the factory boots down to every little detail. There's a nice raised ribbed mating surface where they attach to the cylinder head, ensuring a leak-free seal. They also include metal bushings inside the bolt holes, just like the originals, so you won't deform the mating flange when torquing it down. They even have the metal vacuum nipples which are used for carb synchronization. I had no issue installing the bank of carburetors into these boots, they slipped right in and the clamps fit perfectly, and once tightened the rack of carburators was held securely in place. Once installed, the bike started right up and ran perfectly, so there is a nice tight seal with no leaks. Overall I'm extremely satisified with these intake boots and they look much nicer than the old cracked and dry rotted ones that I replaced.
