CDI boxes for Chinese GY6 scooters come in all sorts of colors. Some claim to be racing CDIs, others are simply stock replacements. This Goofit model is advertised being more heat-resistant and durable than others, and has a noticeably larger than usual heat sink around the electronics.I hope this unit is more durable than others, because: (1) it works; (2) it offers some timing adjustment; and (3) it looks cool. Firstly and most importantly, I plugged it into my scooter, which has an AC stator (and hence needs an AC-friendly CDI), and it worked. I didn't have to do anything else. I like that. Second, the unit has an adjustable potentiometer to adjust the timing advance. I haven't played with this feature yet, but it offers additional flexibility if you've installed a big-bore kit or have done some port work on your motor. Third, this is a cool-looking CDI. There's a view through clear resin to the components, and the heat sink is an unusual shape/size. On the minus side, that also might make it harder to fit into some battery/engine compartments--but it's not an issue for me at all.
