Fitment FAQ
Will this part fit my specific model and year?
This carburetor is intended for Yamaha Warrior 350 & Kodiak 400. Listed year information includes 1987–2004, 1993–1999, 1987–1988, 1987–1995, 1987. It is best matched to original part number(s) 1987-2004. Key physical/spec details from the product data include Intake Diameter: 36mm (1.42"), Air Intake OD: 50mm (1.97"), 36mm. Use the compatibility table and product photos together before ordering.
Do I need to match the OEM part number?
Yes. Match your original part number to 1987-2004 before purchase. For this carburetor, also compare the intake diameter, outlet diameter, flange/bolt spacing, choke type, throttle-cable connection, fuel/vacuum ports, and engine displacement. This is especially important for Yamaha PV36/Kodiak/YFM350/BW350 models because similar model names can use different parts by year or trim.
What models or situations does this part not fit?
Do not order this carburetor for machines outside the listed compatibility, or for units with different intake sizes, cable/choke styles, flange spacing, jetting requirements, or fuel/vacuum port layouts. If your original part number does not cross-reference with 1987-2004, treat the fitment as unconfirmed. Model years outside 1987–2004, 1993–1999, 1987–1988, 1987–1995, 1987 should be verified separately. Do not rely only on the model name or engine size.
What should I check before ordering?
Before ordering, compare your original part with the photos and check the intake diameter, outlet diameter, flange/bolt spacing, choke type, throttle-cable connection, fuel/vacuum ports, and engine displacement. Confirm OEM/cross-reference number(s): 1987-2004. Recheck listed specs such as Intake Diameter: 36mm (1.42"), Air Intake OD: 50mm (1.97"), 36mm. If any connector, mounting point, size, or year detail is different, confirm fitment before installation.
Plug and play
I installed this on my 2003 Wolverine with a Warrior intake manifold. The Wolverine fired up right away and the only adjustment needed was the idle. Very impressed with this carb.
Ok, so last year, I had to entirely replace the carbuerator on a warrior I bought brand new in 04. Around 2011 (due to a woman and a move), this quad became stationary garage decor. It wasn't started until 2015, and naturally was in pretty rotten shape. The tires had all gone flat and split... the fuel system was full of laquor...you get the picture. I bought a different carb than this one and put it on last year. No matter how much jet adjustment I did, this thing just wouldn't run right. It'd idle for about 3 minutes, load up, and die. Since I didn't have the money to fix the tires at the time, I just got frustrated and quit. Then two weeks ago my dad asked to borrow it for a mountain fishing trip to wyoming... he'd supply the tires, I just had to fix it. I had 10 days to straighten out this beaten up bike I'd ridden like I stole it for 7 years. So I messed with that 50 dollar carb until the 11th hour, no luck. On a whim, I bought this, taking a gamble. I saw it appeared to be identical to the stock carb outside, but the machining inside looked somewhat rough. Nevertheless, I installed it. Thankfully, this carb performs just as well as the stock one. They took that old quad into the mountains and rode 19 miles on very rough terrain with zero problems at all, and no discernable difference in performance. It's well worth the money.
I installed this carb on a 1996 wolverine 350. The only problem i had as the cable holder had to be removed but it was a breeze. The atv started without the choke and the idle was set perfect. I have not had a chance to test ride but it sounds good and has good response. Also everything is included two extra jets and even has the studs and nuts to connect it to the intake. The first photo is the part i had to remove. Second photo is the finished product Third photo is the original carb looks pretty much identical to the after market. The seal was wore and deteriorated, I the old seal off and in the process of making a new seal out of a sponge just in case someone else is in the same situation and dosent want to pay $45 dollars for a new guide.
I have a 2001 warrior I did have to modify the throttle cable sleeve by removing 1/4 inch with a hack saw and the throttle cable bracket the threads were not tapped for the screw. However, the quad seems to run great haven't even had to use choke starts and idles great.
