Fitment FAQ
Will this part fit my specific model and year?
This voltage regulator rectifier is intended for Engine; Honda CB750K / CB750F / CB750C; 748cc; 1979–1982; Honda CB750SC Nighthawk; 1982–1983. It is best matched to original part number(s) 31600-MG5-000, 31600-MA6-910, 31600-MA7-008, 31600-MA6-000. Key physical/spec details from the product data include Voltage: 12V DC, 12V, 748cc. Use the compatibility table and product photos together before ordering.
Do I need to match the OEM part number?
Yes. Match your original part number to 31600-MG5-000, 31600-MA6-910, 31600-MA7-008, 31600-MA6-000 before purchase. For this voltage regulator rectifier, also compare the OEM number, plug shape, pin count, mounting-hole distance, heat-sink style, and AC/DC charging-system type. This is especially important for Honda CB750/CB900/CB1000/CB1100F models because similar model names can use different parts by year or trim.
What models or situations does this part not fit?
Do not order this voltage regulator rectifier for machines outside the listed compatibility, or for units with different pin counts, plug shapes, AC/DC system types, or mounting-hole spacing. If your original part number does not cross-reference with 31600-MG5-000, 31600-MA6-910, 31600-MA7-008, 31600-MA6-000, treat the fitment as unconfirmed. Model years outside 1979–1982, 1982–1983, 1980–1982, 1983–1985, 1984–1986 should be verified separately. Do not rely only on the model name or engine size.
What should I check before ordering?
Before ordering, compare your original part with the photos and check the OEM number, plug shape, pin count, mounting-hole distance, heat-sink style, and AC/DC charging-system type. Confirm OEM/cross-reference number(s): 31600-MG5-000, 31600-MA6-910, 31600-MA7-008, 31600-MA6-000. Recheck listed specs such as Voltage: 12V DC, 12V, 748cc. If any connector, mounting point, size, or year detail is different, confirm fitment before installation.
I got this rectifier for a homemade project on a motorcycle that I'm creating and the rectifier is working perfectly well so far.
I got this for aCB750 Nighthawk.
I haven't gone on any rides, it's been Canadian winter the whole time, but on the bench so far it's worked out.
The Nighthawks had famously bad electrical systems with their generators not even maintaining the battery at idle. They're fine on the highway, but, if they're not purring they're slowing down. Hence me replacing the whole charging system.
The heatsink looks adequate to me, the wiring is good, the connectors are well-assembled. No quality issues that I can identify.
Car parts to me are either 5-star or 1-star. It either works perfectly, or, if it's less than perfect, no one should buy it and it's a frustrating waste of time. I might drop it to 4-stars if the price was too high, but other than that, those are the possible options. This is perfect so far, but I only have a few minutes of runtime on it. The real test will be if it lasts a season. Presume that no news is good news, I'll be more incentivized to drop my rating for a bad product and to warn others than to come back and re-confirm a good product later.
So far so good. So it has a tentative 5-star.
