These carburetor intake joints replace original boots that have become cracked, hardened, loose, distorted, or difficult to seal after prolonged exposure to engine heat, vibration, fuel vapor, dust, and off-road riding conditions.

Damaged intake boots may allow unmetered air to enter the engine, potentially causing difficult starting, unstable idle, hanging RPM, hesitation, surging, inconsistent throttle response, or a lean-running condition.
